Author meets reader sessions
We welcome author meets reader sessions. These sessions foster conversation and debate about one to three recently published academic books. A session lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Composition of author meets reader sessions
Author(s): Each session must involve the discussion of 1 – 3 books. At least one author of each book must be present.
Discussants: Each book must have 2 -3 discussants.
Chair: Each session must have a chair (who may be one of the discussants).
Submission process
Prior to submission of the session: Prior to the session submission, all discussants and chairs must have completed their individual submissions and obtained a reference ID. Reference IDs are provided in the submission confirmation email.

Submission requirements: submissions for sessions must meet the following requirements:
- Title and Abstract: Provide a title and 150-250 word abstract in English.
- Name and reference ID of panel participants: Please provide the names and reference IDs for all the participants so that the submissions can be properly linked.
Editing your submissions
You can modify existing submissions through the Oxford Abstract Dashboard until the submission deadline. Do not create new submissions for corrections.
Next Steps
Submissions will remain open until 15 April 2025. You should receive notification of our decision on 30 April 2025 at the latest.
If your proposal is accepted, you can register for the conference and pay your conference fees via Oxford Abstracts. The relevant details and deadline for doing so will be included in the acceptance email.
